BADUNG

Badung is a regency located in central and southern Bali. It includes some of the best known and most touristy towns on the Island of the Gods. In the south of the regency of Badung there are some of the most important touristic areas like Kuta, Canggu, Seminyak, Uluwatu, Jimbaran or Nusa Dua. The northern part of the regency is less populated and not as touristy as the southern part. Also, the only airport on the island, Ngurah Rai (Denpasar), is located in Badung Regency.

Canggu

Canggu is a coastal village in the Badung regency. It is very famous for being one of the favorite destinations for surfers, digital nomads, influencers, and yogis. In Canggu you can find a lot of trendy hotels and cafes, vegetarian and vegan restaurants, surf schools, and yoga centers.

Kuta

Kuta is known as the party capital of Bali, and there are many trendy pubs and bars where you can have a drink. Kuta is a modern area where you can find resorts, spas, and shopping malls. This village is also known for its surfing beaches. Being located near the airport, Kuta is an ideal destination for travelers who only have a couple of days to spend in Bali.

Seminyak

Seminyak is known as the luxury coast of Bali. In this area, there are many high-end hotels and villas, spas, shops, and restaurants. The beaches in the Seminyak area are ideal for surfing and watching the sunset from the elegant cafes and beach clubs overlooking the sea.

Jimbaran

Jimbaran is a fishing village located south of Denpasar airport and a touristic area in Bali. Jimbaran Bay has a long beach with calm waters and is known mainly for the fish and seafood restaurants located on the beach. In the area of Jimbaran, you can find some of the best beaches for surfers.

Uluwatu

Uluwatu is an area located at the southern tip of the island. It is known for its stunning beaches and dramatic cliffs. Besides, this area is famous for its temple overlooking the sea, amazing sunsets, trendy beach clubs, and the best waves on the island for surfing.

Nusa Dua

Nusa Dua is known as the elegant district of Bali, and many of the high-end tourist spots are located here. In Nusa Dua, there is a private area where the most luxurious resorts of the island are located and where access is only allowed to the guests. Nusa Dua is an ideal area for a relaxed holiday and for spending the days at the pool or on the beach.

Uluwatu Temple

Uluwatu temple is located on the edge of a 70-meter cliff and was built to protect the island from evil spirits. This temple is one of the most important in Bali and one of the best places to see the sunset, and the Balinese Kecak dance also called the trance dance.

Kuta Beach

Kuta Beach is a very long beach, located in the town of the same name, where you can surf or party in one of the many bars and clubs located next to the beach. Kuta Beach is, without a doubt, one of the best-known beaches in Bali and is famous for being one of the best places to learn how to surf.

Batu Bolong Beach

Batu Bolong Beach is located in the area of Canggu and is a reasonably quiet beach with black sand. Like most beaches in southern Bali, Batu Bolong is also known for its surfing. Moreover, Batu Bolong is home to trendy beach clubs, restaurants, and cafes from where you can enjoy the sunset.

Taman Ayun Temple

Taman Ayun, also called the temple of the beautiful garden, is notable for the moat that surrounds the central area of the temple and make it seems to be floating on the water. This is a rather small temple but so beautiful and interesting that it was declared a UNESCO world heritage site.

Echo Beach

Echo beach is located near Batu Bolong beach and is very popular among surfers because the waves here often reach two meters high. Although swimming is not recommended due to the strength of the waves, there are many things to do and nearby you can find excellent restaurants and cafes.

Padang Padang Beach

Padang Padang Beach is considered one of the best beaches in Bali and is located in the area of Uluwatu. This is a small white sand beach that lies at the foot of a cliff and is usually quite crowded because of the fame it acquired thanks to a scene from the movie Eat, Pray, Love that was filmed there.

Dreamland Beach

Dreamland Beach is one of the best-known beaches among surfers. This beach is located in the area of Uluwatu and is a beach where you can practice water sports or rent a sunbed, an umbrella and relax. Also, you can take advantage of your visit to Dreamland to do some shopping because you need to go through a craft and souvenir market to get to the beach.

Green Bowl Beach

Green Bowl Beach, located at the southern tip of Bali, is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. This is a small beach with a circular shape and it’s surrounded by cliffs covered with vegetation. This is one of the few beaches in the south of Bali where besides surfing, you can go snorkelling during the low tide.

Jimbaran Beach

Jimbaran beach is one of the best places in Bali to have lunch or dinner with a view of the sea. It is full of restaurants and beach bars where you can have a great variety of traditional Balinese dishes at affordable prices. Jimbaran Beach is a relatively long beach, with golden sand and calm waters. Here you can practice sports such as windsurfing, bodysurfing, and sailing boat.

Karang Boma Cliff

Karang Boma Cliff offers the best views of the Uluwatu area, and it is also one of the most recommended places to watch the sunset. From Karang Boma, you can see the Uluwatu temple at the edge of a cliff and the waves of the Indian Ocean breaking on the rocks. This place is still not well known among tourists and therefore is one of the few places in the area where there are no crowds.
